Delve - To Search Deeply And Laboriously

So, today I went on a 4 hour bike ride and adventure alone. I went hiking, photo taking, saw a big fish and a family of ducks, rode along the laurel trail, got scared by spiders and other creepers, saw lots of fungi, and then biked home. :) it was awesome, except for being hungry the entire time. I was dead when I got home, but it was great!
Enjoy my photo selection from the hike!

Juggling For Two

I met a few of these buskers downtown Waterloo yesterday, preparing for the upcoming street festival. I really have to find out when it is, as I'd love to attend and see all they have to show!

He even wanted to perform just for me!

Night In A New Town

Last night I went out all alone and shot from about 12:00-2:00am I got a few nice shots some of which I am sharing with you.

This is the old distillery for Seagram, it's now been transformed into lofts I believe, very nice building and lovely lighting every night, it was my first time shooting it, but I knew I wanted to from almost a year ago.

This was a little water fountain type thing out front of the distillery building actually, tough shot to make, but turned out in the end.

The Massive Transport

I've been moving into my new house for the past few days and have finally made it to the university to get access to some internet. I haven't had much time to look through photos, so I found this one from last week on the Toronto Ferry. The ferry ride home was awesome, it was so packed and it made me feel like I was being illegally smuggled into a country. Great sky too! Lots of pictures were taken and this one was chosen for all to view. I'll have full internet by Friday, hopefully [cross your fingers for me] and then I'll be back up posting.
-David, now in Waterloo...

This was taken while on my first adventure shooting outside of the country - a couple months back - one morning in Ohio. I just found this while searching for an image to post.
Hope everyone else likes it!

Reef Girl

This is a lady from the bikini contest which was being hosted at the after party on Saturday night, I didn't go to the afterparty so this was shot during the day. I took this from the shoulders of a gentleman that I met that day.

WakeStock

So, I have lots of stories to tell and many photos to share my Saturday spent in toronto. I took over 500 photos and saw some great boarding, bands and friends. These are my first batch of wakeboarding photos; keep in mind it was my first time ever seeing live wakeboarding, let alone shooting it!

A Pastime For Us All

Well, as the one week approaches I figure I should post a picture of my new niece! I was at the sisters house on Thursday, and have finally done something with the pictures. Isn't she a cutie? Oh, and the baby too!
Well, just to inform everyone who reads this; my last day of hellish work is sunday, and as of when I wake up in the morning I will have one week till I move to Waterloo for second year University. This week is going to be nuts, starting tomorrow with a day full of wakeboarding, skateboarding, concerts, partying, and most importantly - photography.
See you all soon,
dave
ps. cute?

Dueling Forces

I set off my fire alarm with this one...moral of the story - don't create an ultimate candle inside the house because when you blow it out, smoke will fill the room. I'll have better candles shortly, just you wait.

-David

ps. if anyone is still wondering - the wall I posted last week is above the Maid Of The Mist in Niagara Falls, Ontario. A very interesting building and lookout point

Connection Around The Bends

I wish I had a wide-angle lens - what more can I say? The view was too beautiful to pass up. I was standing on the very end of a peninsula where these two rivers came together. Someone buy me a Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens please :)

I stitched this together from 5 individual shots, using Canon's PhotoStitch program. First time I've posted a panoramic photo. Please click the image to see a better sized version of the image, and tell me your thoughts as per usual.

Crawling In The Dark

Wow, I went to get Jennifer from Thorald yesterday, and we stopped in St. Catherines to check out the scenery. We came across this tunnel which went through a few highways and in it were millions [I do not exaggerate this time] of spiders. The webs crossed the corners and went back, back, back, all the way through the tunnel. It was filled with all these spiders creeping and crawling. I took multiple shots, and these were my favorites.
Enjoy and as always, let me know what your thoughts are!

The Show Will Go On

The other week a section of a tree fell in the middle of the stage at the Shakespeare in the Park festival, held every summer in Oakville. The tree crashed across the set and front rows 10 minutes before the 'doors' would've been open to allow people into those very seats. Luckily, as I spoke to the producer the morning after [when this picture was taken], only 3 plastic chairs were damaged in the unforseen splitting of this tree. The town had the set cleaned up in 8 hours and the show went on the following evening.
Weird, lucky, and a good time for a photo sesh.

ps. by the way this is the town workers cleaning up,

Somber In The Park

Tonight I actually made it out of the house after sleeping all day to do some photography. I went down by the lake and spent a few hours with my camera, the sky, and a few other subjects of interest.

This man looked a little bit sad, and I feel as though I caught the emotion that I saw in him - my best shot of the evening.

The sky was excellent across the lake tonight, it had quite the unique character. This one cloud lit up in the sky, and brought a brilliant dynamic to the view.
